William “Bill” Gaschler, 87, died on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Garden
Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. He was born on February 2,
1936, in Scott County the son of Paul & Pauline (Gaschler) Gaschler.
He married Dorothy Snyder and they had three children together.
Bill graduated from Scott City High School and farmed and drove a
transport truck before he moved to Texas and owned and operated a motel
for five years. In 1981 he moved to Garden City where he and his son
owned and operated Good Times Billiards Tavern for many years until he
retired. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing,
senior dances, playing pool tournaments and his Las Vegas Keno
Tournament trips.
He is survived by his Son- Ken Gaschler of Garden City, Daughter- Cathy
(Kim) Oliver of Fort Worth, Texas, Sister- Ruth White of Scott City,
Kansas, 3 Grandchildren- Justin Gaschler, Ashley (Toby) Foster and
Danielle (Mitchell) Parr and 5 Great-Grandchildren- Piper Parr, Shepherd
Parr, Augustus Foster, Quaid Foster and Matthias Foster. He was
preceded in death by his parents and Son- Joel Gaschler, 4 Brothers-
James Gaschler, Albert Gaschler, John Gaschler and Richard Gaschler and 3
Sisters- Anna Gaschler, Rose Bridgewater and Francis Myers.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in
Garden City with Rev Jacob Schneider officiating. There will be a
private family burial in Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. Memorials
are suggested to Meals On Wheels in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
