Clarnetta A. Whipple, 75, of Ness City passed away July 14, 2024, at Cedar Village, Ness City. She was born on March 30, 1949, in LaCrosse, Kansas, the daughter of Helen (Foos) and Ben Gumescheimer.
Clarnetta was a lifetime resident of Ness County. She attended grade school and high school in Bazine, Kansas. On August 20, 1967, she married Tom Whipple in Bazine, Kansas.
Clarnetta was a homemaker and dedicated caregiver in long term care and in the private sector for many years. Prior to that she was well known as the “Tupperware Lady”. She was also a previous owner/operator of Ness Bowl, in Ness City. She was a member of Ness City Methodist Church. Clarnetta had many friends but her pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and took much pride in her flowers. She loved chocolate, Elvis and anything red!
Clarnetta is survived by her four children, Annetta (Pat) Fellhoelter, Bryan Whipple, of Ness City, Janetta (Pete) Flax, of Ransom and Loretta (Hunter) McMillen of Solomon; two sisters Henrietta (Elvin) Harris of Plains and Rayetta (Donnie) Hoss of Ness City; nine grandchildren, Landon, Jared (Miriam) and Kyler Fellhoelter, Seth, Bryce and Ethan Flax, Raegan, Logan and Kennedy McMillen; two great-grandchildren, Kamree and Kendall Fellhoelter and her companion Rodney Ruff, LaCrosse.
Clarnetta was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Gumescheimer and her parents Ben Gumescheimer and Helen Schaben.
A funeral service will be held at the Methodist Church, Ness City, KS on Thursday, July 18, 2024, 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in the Bazine Cemetery. Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
