It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Sharon (Struthers) Lovitt, the morning of June 26, 2022, at the age of 84.
Sharon was born to Cecil and Frances (Pat Stegman) Struthers of Rozel, KS, in 1938. She attended Rozel High School and Fort Hays State University. Sharon married William (Bill) Lovitt of McCracken, KS in 1958. The couple owned and operated Lovitt’s Propane and Appliance in Ransom for many years while also farming in Rush and Ness Counties. Sharon was a true woman of faith and deeply involved in her church. Mom cherished her friends throughout the community, but her greatest love was her family. In our eyes, she handled all situations with grace, class and compassion. We all hope to live up to her fine example.
Sharon is survived by her five children, Kathy (Jeff) Hurd, Brad Lovitt, Jennifer Lovitt, Teresa Lovitt and Lora (Scott) Faiman as well as her 5 grandchildren; Rae, Eric, Clay, Austin and Audra. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Joan Green.
A visitation will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City on July 7th from 5-7 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at St Mary’s Catholic Church in McCracken, KS, at 10 am on July 8th. Burial will follow at the McCracken City Cemetery. Luncheon will be served at the Ransom VFW immediately following graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Arrowhead West or Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.
