November 21, 2001 - August 21, 2023

Katherine Anne Connor, known affectionately as Katie, passed away on August 21, 2023, in Finney County, Kansas, at the age of 21. She was born on November 21, 2001, in Wichita, Kansas. Katie was a beautiful soul who sought to love and serve others and to trust God in the midst of her daily struggles. She had a quirky sense of humor that often took family, friends, and co-workers by surprise. Katie found fulfillment in caring for the hurt and the broken through her work at Kearny County EMS.

Katie's passion for helping others extended beyond her career. She often assisted her father in remodeling work at Victory Baptist Church, whether it was lifting a sheet of sheetrock, painting a new ceiling, or playfully painting the top of her dad's head. Her kind and compassionate nature will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Katie is survived by her parents, Kenton and Cynthia Connor of Lakin, Kansas; her siblings, Caleb, William, and James Connor, also of Lakin; her grandparents, Kenneth and Leta Connor of Plainfield, Illinois, and WH Ford of Clearwater, Kansas; as well as a host of wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jessie Connor, and her grandmother, Laverne Ford.

Katie found solace and strength in her personal relationship with Jesus and was an member of Victory Baptist Church in Lakin, Kansas.

In her free time, Katie loved capturing the beauty of nature through photography. She had a deep love for animals and often tried to bring more of them home.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. at Garnand's Funeral Home in Lakin. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. at New Life Church located at 607 Kraus Street in Lakin. Following the funeral, a graveside service will take place at the Lakin Cemetery.

The family would like to encourage those who are able to attend to wear something purple, whether a ribbon, shoelaces, a K-State or Lakin Broncs T-shirt in honor of Katie.
