Francisco V. Corrales, age 79, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born January 29, 1945, in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Rafael Corrales and Ambrocia Vitolas.
Francisco grew up in Mexico. He married Rosa Corrales on April 21, 1969, in Mexico. They came to Ulysses in 2018 from Andrews, Texas. He loved farming and driving tractors. He enjoyed family gatherings, and he was always looking out for and worrying about his family’s welfare. Francisco and Rosa enjoyed sitting outside their house and visiting with the neighbors.
Francisco is survived by his children, Josefina Flores of Ojinaga, Mexico, José Guadalupe Corrales of Johnson, Francisco Corrales, Jr. of Johnson, and Mayra Pando of Johnson; sister, Margarita Baeaza of Ulysses; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Corrales and Ambrocia Vitolas, and nine siblings.
Rosary will be Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM and Funeral Mass will follow at 6:30 PM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi officiating.
