Darlene M. Walters, age 85 of Hays, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born April 30, 1938, in Hays, Kansas to Albert and Wilhemena (Graf) Walters.
Darlene was a CNA at the Eddy Clinic in Hays for over 50 years and retired in 2005.
She grew up in Hays and was a 1956 graduate of Girls Catholic High School. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed physical fitness workouts, reading, and cooking.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Becky Morris and husband, Roger, Plainville, KS; her brother-in-law, Jack McGivern, Topeka, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Wilhelmena; her brother, Tom Walters and his wife, Mary; and her sister, Margie McGivern.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18th and Vine, Hays, Kansas with Father Nick Parker officiating.
The burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hays Kansas.
A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, at the church.
