Linda Mae Partridge, 72, passed away on July 28, 2024 at Cedar Village Care Center Ness City, Kansas. She was born on July 29th, 1951 in Concord, NH. She was the daughter of Cleve Charles and Audrey (Sweetland) Pogue.
Survivors include her only child Kristine Gibbs and her husband Jeff Gibbs of Calhan, CO; granddaughter, Emily Mae Gibbs; her two brothers, Cleve Pogue of Cave Creek, Arizona and Lee Pogue of Dodge City; sisters, Leila Duncan of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Linda went to Dodge City High School. Then graduated from Truck Driving School of Dodge City. After that, the first and only woman hired by Dillons at the age of 23. She also unloaded her own truck. After a decade of driving trucks, then went on to work for the Department of Aging in Hutchinson, KS. Attended Wichita State University to receive a master’s degree in Gerontology. She Worked for Manor of the Plains Dodge City as a Social Services Director for 10 years until she had to retire early do to health reasons.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ness City, Kansas with burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery Dodge City, Kansas. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas on August 2nd, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m.
