Janet Marcia Huerta, aged 34, passed away on June 1, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas, after a life marked by courage, keen analysis, and a passion for adventure. Born on July 14, 1989, in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Basilio and Maria Concepcion (Macias) Huerta.
Since childhood, Janet was an exemplary and outstanding student, sister, and daughter, driven by a mission to make her family proud with the purpose of one day being able to take care and support herself and them. Growing up, Janet took pleasure in establishing bonds with her family and friends with common interests and hobbies. As she grew older, her love for spending quality time and providing companionship to her family never faltered. Janet had a profound love for education, outdoors, music, and fashion. She always sought opportunities to learn, travel, play games and pickup hobbies; like swimming, volleyball, pickleball, dancing, and karaoke with those that mattered most to her. Her family was everything and more.
Janet's high school years were marked by her involvement in the debate team, a formative experience that sharpened her argumentative skills and fostered a deep respect for the power of persuasive communication. This experience would later serve her well in both her professional and personal life, enabling her to articulate her thoughts with clarity and conviction. Janet's educational journey was as impressive as it was inspiring. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Wichita State University, where she honed her intellectual skills and cultivated a love for learning that would last a lifetime. Professionally, Janet dedicated herself to several different roles where she provided mentorship and support as an Immigration Paralegal, an Educational Talent Search Advisor, and a Software Support Specialist in the Heavy Bulk Materials Industry. Her analytical mind and attention to detail were assets that made her a valued colleague and a trusted mentor to many who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Traveling was another of Janet's passions, as she sought to explore new horizons and immerse herself in diverse cultures, always eager to embark on her next adventure.
Janet’s independent and courageous personality proved to be a blessing in mentoring and guiding her and her family through their most trying and challenging moments in life. Her undeniable and unwavering love and selfless acts for her family and loved ones demonstrated that she would move heaven and earth to ensure their wellbeing, success, and happiness. Her family viewed her as a symbol of guidance and encouragement, intelligence and fearlessness, protection and safety, comfort and love. She was also known for her generous spirit, particularly her love of gift giving. She took great pleasure in surprising her loved ones with considerate gestures, a testament to her thoughtfulness and the depth of her affection for those who she loved. Those who knew Janet will remember her for her sharp wit, her unmatched determination, and her boundless capacity for love.
She is survived by a family who cherished her deeply: Parents -Basilio and Maria Concepcion Huerta; Husband - Oscar Rodriguez Bedolla; Godmother and Aunt - Romelia Macias; Godfather and Uncle - Felipe de Jesus Macias; Siblings - Marysol Huerta Macias, Yesenia Huerta Macias (Evan Patterson), and Daniel Huerta Macias (Diana Heredia) and her Nephew - Camilo Adan Huerta.
Visitation will be held 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Friday June 7, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at St Mary Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Saturday June 8, 2024 also at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
