Royce Alan Roesch

Royce Alan Roesch, 86, of Quinter, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Gove County Medical Center in Quinter, KS.  Royce was born August 9, 1935, in Quinter, KS, and adopted by Archie Bryan and Ida (Bowman) Roesch. He graduated from Quinter High School with the class of 1954.

Royce attended McPherson College for two years, then served in Brethren Volunteer Service, from 1956 to 1958 in Austria and Greece, teaching the local farmers different farming techniques. He graduated from McPherson College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Royce and Mary Jennings met at McPherson College and were united in marriage on December 17, 1960, at the First Central Church of the Brethren in Kansas City, KS, and together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.  To this union, Royce and Mary were blessed with four children, three daughters, Paula, Michele and Amy, and son Brian.

Royce was an educator in Logan, KS and Waterford, CA, teaching for 10 years, before returning to Quinter in 1973 to take over the family farm.  After farming, later in life Royce enjoyed working at Formation Plastics and driving a bus for the Quinter School District.

Royce was a creative and forward thinker all of his life.  He loved a long road trip and taking the road less traveled. Camping, traveling, family, friends, photography and tinkering with his R.V. was among his favorite things.

Royce is survived by his wife Mary Roesch, Quinter; four children, Paula Sargent, Quinter; Brian Roesch (Linda), Quinter; Michele Roesch Johnson (Eric), McPherson, KS; Amy Crist (John) Quinter; grandchildren, Justin Roesch (Kayla) Taylor, TX,  Katie Sargent (Eathan) Hays, KS, Dylan Sargent, Ransom, KS, Zach Roesch (Jen), Westminster, CO, Tim Roesch (Heidi), Littleton, CO, Aubrey Roesch, Quinter, KS, Jesse Roesch, Manhattan, KS, Addie Johnson, Manhattan, NY, Tate Johnson, Little Rock, AR, Scott Crist, (fiancé, Kassie), Quinter, KS, Jaci Wenger (Brian) Rogers, AR, Brett Crist, (fiancé, Danielle), Rawlings, WY, Kylie Crist, Oakley, KS; great grandchildren, Elijah, Rylee, Aiden, Emilynn, Madison R., Olivia, Naomi, Madison W.; and many nieces and nephews, sister Doris Snyder (Dale), Sabetha, KS.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents Bryan and Ida, foster brother Louie Williams and wife Shirley

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Church of the Brethren, Quinter, KS, with Pastor Keith Funk officiating. Interment will follow at Baker Township Cemetery.
