Bonnie Lucille Sauer, 92, of Garden City, Kansas, passed away on January 26, 2024. She was born on June 28, 1931, in Shallow Water, Kansas, to the late Harrison Wayne and Violet Marie (Bailey) Bulkley. Bonnie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was an extraordinary cook who never needed a recipe. She took great joy in attending her grandchildren's activities and was always there to support them. Family was her greatest hobby and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma State Cowboys football.
In her lifetime Bonnie had many different talents, including working as a cook at Abe Hubert Jr. High, owner/operator of Pauline’s Sportswear. She would also cook and clean houses for others including baking and decorating birthday and wedding cakes.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Randall Sauer of Spearman, Texas, Mike and wife Karla Sauer of Modoc, Kansas, Daphne Schmidt of Garden City, Kansas, Michelle and husband Curtis Gross of Wichita, Kansas, and Kirk Sauer of El Dorado, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott and wife Andrea Sauer of Calgary, Canada, Jessica and husband Mark Garriott of Wichita, Kansas, Jennifer Sauer of Wichita, Kansas, Joshua Sauer (Tanya Tankersley) of Modoc, Kansas, Kyron Schmidt and Brittani Schmidt of Garden City, Kansas, Brandon and wife Erin Gross, Sean Gross, of Wichita, Kansas, Justin Sauer (Brooke Stanley) of Scott City, Kansas and Ashlee Sauer of Dallas, Texas. Bonnie is also survived by her great- grandchildren, Oliver, Savannah, Jonas, Colin, Julian, and Gabby. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Stanley Sauer, her brothers Robert Bulkley, Harold Bulkley, and Ron Bulkley, her sister Ann Eckels, her daughter- in-law Janet Sauer, and her son-in-law Henry Schmidt.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Gospel Fellowship Church in Shallow Water, Kansas, with Pastor Bill Geurin officiating. Contributions in Bonnie's memory can be made to Modoc Cemetery in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
