Maria D. Lopez, 58, died Tuesday February 6, 2024 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 22, 1965 in Monterrey Mexico, the daughter of Higinio and Amelia (Terrazas) Oviedo. She married Gerardo Lopez on April 26, 1986 in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. He survives.
Maria attended and graduated from schools in Monterrey Mexico. She and her husband moved to Kansas in 1996. Together they raised two children and had the honor of welcoming four grandchildren into the Lopez Oviedo lineage. She was a hard worker and had been employed at Wal-Mart as a stocker for the last 5 years. Her hobbies included exercising, dancing, and spending quality time with her family. She will be remembered for the unconditional deep love she had for her family and ability and willingness to help anyone in need.
Survivors include her Husband-Gerardo Lopez; Children Perla (Lalo) Ramos and Josue (Lysha) Lopez; Grandchildren-Kimberly Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Armani Ramos & Ivan Lopez; Parents- Higinio and Amelia Oviedo; Siblings- Cabo (Santa) Oviedo and Rosa (Jose) Oviedo; Special Niece-Miriam and numerous other Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held 1:00- 8:00 pm Sunday February 11, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin. A Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday February 12, 2024 with a Funeral Mass to follow with Father Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will be held at late date.
