KANSAS CITY—Authorities are investigating a house fire in a Kansas City suburb.
Just after 8a.m. Tuesday, crews from the Kansas City Fire Department and Raytown fire companies responded to a fire at a home in the 7800 block of Crescent Avenue in Raytown, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
Crews reported heavy smoke from a split-level occupied home. Searches of the structure came back all clear. The occupants were able to evacuate on their own. One pet, a cat, was lost in the fire. No injuries were reported. Authorities have not released a damage estimate.
