Victor “Vic” Deaver, 82, of Garden City, passed away on July 22, 2023, after battling cancer.
Vic was born on January 30, 1941, to Eugene and Ruth Ann Deaver in Quinter, KS. As a young child, Vic moved to Garden City, KS where he lived for the rest of his life. Vic graduated Garden City in 1959 and joined the Army National Guard and served as a field wireman. Vic went on to attended Garden City Community College where he received an associate's degree in business in 1962.
Vic married his wife, Janice in 1961. Vic and Janice had their daughter, Trisha in 1966. Vic is proceeded in death by his son, Chad.
Vic worked at Golden Plains Credit Union until he retired in 1999 after 33 years of service. Vic retired as executive vice-president of the Credit Union.
After retiring, Vic and Janice spent time traveling the country and traveled to all 50 states. Vic was involved with several churches throughout his life serving in a variety of roles. Vic enjoyed racquetball, golf, reading, singing and technology.
Survivors include his wife Janice of the home; his daughter Trisha, grandson Brandt Helsel and wife Leatte, granddaughter, Falon Goodman and husband Zach, and great-grandchildren, Brason, Jax, Ella and Logan.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Jeff Starkey officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours.
The family suggests memorials given to the Heartland Cancer Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
