Vernon Raymond Schneider

Vernon Raymond Schneider, 84, passed away on June 18, 2022, at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kansas.  He was born on January 9, 1938, in WaKeeney, Kansas, the son of Harm and Elsie (Eichman) Schneider.

Vernon was a farmer. He was a former president of Rural Water District. He was the owner of South 40 Enterprise and Lawn Mower Repair Shop. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ransom. He married LaVeta Rider on December 10, 1957, in Mexico.  She died on February 11, 2017.

Survivors include his son, Troy Schneider and his life partner, Michelle Horton, of Ransom; two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Jensen of Hillsboro, Tammy (Walter) Knight of Shawnee; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Chris, and Tyler Jensen, Caytlin and Walt Cody Knight, Matthew and  Madelyn Horton; six great-grandchildren, Hadley, Jameson, Conner, Carson, and Carter Jensen, and Kole.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, LaVeta Schneider; three brothers, Leon, Leonard, Ken Schneider; two sisters, LaDonna Schwien, and Clarice Bell.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022, 10:00 A.M., at the United Methodist Church, Ransom, Kansas, followed with burial in the Ransom Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
