Roger Dale Watson, 70, Hays, died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at HaysMed.
He was born March 8, 1954 in Eads, Colorado, the son of Fred and Elaine (Ingram) Watson. He was a graduate of Beloit High School, attended Fort Hays State University, and was a self-employed home and business painter. He married Jill Buckland, and they divorced and then later, he married Sharon Jackson, and they divorced. Roger was a talented drummer with the band Kim and Dixie and loved 70s music, dogs, snow skiing, and spending time with his friends, family, and grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother, Elaine Watson of Hays, two sons, Travis Watson and wife Monica of Hays and Tyler Watson and fiancé Crystal of Manhattan, three daughters, Stacie Dupree and husband Devin of Houston, TX, Heather McMillan of Topeka and Carla McGregor and husband Mark of Garden City, four sisters, Deb Rixon and husband Craig of McCracken, Leann Hughes and husband Walter of Oakley, Janiece Bradstreet and husband Bill of Scott City, and Vanessa Reed and husband Henry of Dighton 13 grandchildren, Kirsten Alltop, Christian Dupree, Makenzie Bell, Traeton McMillan, Kenny Bounds, Beaux Watson, Marcayla and Malaya McGregor, and Jaycine, Addison, Cayden, Haven, and Annistyn Watson, and one great grandchild, Deandre Bounds.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Fr. Nick Parker officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains.
