Teresa Marie “Tessie” (Munoz) Kypers, 94, died Tuesday February 13, 2024 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 23, 1929 in Deerfield, Kansas; the daughter of Henry Munoz, Sr. and Sarah Calderon. Tessie’s father Henry passed when she was quite young and her mother remarried Manuel Beltran, Sr. who became an integral part of Tessie’s life.
Tessie grew up in the Garden City area where she attended the local schools and lived her young life. In 1971 she moved to California where she made deep connections with family and friends that she truly cherished.
She is remembered for her sweet loving nature and positive attitude. Tessie loved dancing and listening to music, going out to eat and shopping, especially for shoes! She prided herself in keeping things clean; her house was always neat and tidy. She enjoyed gardening and going for walks in the outdoors.
Survivors include her son-Raymond Munoz of Garden City, Siblings- Manuel Beltran, Jr. of Garden City, Gerry Beltran-Gomez of Great Bend, Caverly Rojas-Wallace and husband Keith of Garden City, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings- Henry Munoz, Jr., Paul Beltran, Alfred Beltran, Nick Beltran, Esther Perez, Rita Beltran-Herrera, Christine C. Beltran, and Joseph Beltran.
A Rosary Service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday February 21, 2024 with a Funeral Mass to follow both at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas with Father Jacob Schneider as celebrant. The Service will be streamed live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Teresa Munoz Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
