Ron J. Diehl, 74, Hays, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Hays Good Samaritan Society.
He was born February 15, 1949 in Hays, the son of Rudolph “Rudy” and Anna (Haas) Diehl.
Ron graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy in 1967, served in the U.S. Navy, and graduated from Fort Hays State University, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication and a second master’s degree in counseling.
On May 8, 1982, he was united in marriage to Karen Beilman in Hays, and they celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Ron worked in radio broadcasting, retail management, was a custodian, held supervisory positions, and was a business owner with his wife Karen. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and loved his Shih Tzu dogs, Kailey and Bailey.
Survivors include his wife Karen of the home, two sisters, Eileen Bieker of Haysville and Diana Zimmerman of Great Bend, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willis and Dan Diehl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. David Micheal officiating. Inurnment with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Services are in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
