Leland “Pete” Ray Scott, age 71, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Hill City, KS, passed away due to an auto accident on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was the son of Roy and Georgia (Post) Scott, born April 29, 1952, in Phillipsburg, Kansas.
Pete was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Bashor, Kansas and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved remodeling homes and being outside gardening. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was employed by Tret-O-Lite and retired from Baker Petrolite.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Knight) of Good Samaritan Center, Olathe, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Jacob Smith and their children Fiona and Dylan; sisters, Leota Goss and Leola Chase; and brothers, Myron and Merlin Scott.
Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea; parents, Roy and Georgia Scott; brothers, Leroy and Melvin Scott; and sister, LoLetta Nevins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Saint Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Stockton, Kansas at 11:30 a.m. on June 29, 2024, with lunch at the Saint Thomas Rectory in Stockton, Kansas.
