Donna Marie Campbell, 76, died on February 12, 2024, at Smith Center Health and Rehab. She was born August 15, 1947, In Smith Center, the daughter of Esbon and Gertrude Widener.
Donna spent her childhood in the Gretna area on a farm. She attended school in Smith Center. She graduated from Agra High School in 1966. She then married George Campbell on May 30, 1966; and to this union two children were born.
She loved her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved working as a Certified Nursing Assistant up until the time she was forced to retire due to health. But even the last four years spent in the nursing home she wanted to help with the other residents.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband George Campbell, her parents, a stepmother Mary Widener, a brother Roy E. Widener, a sister Maxine Duncan, a sister-in-law Sheila Widener, a brother-in-law Loren Lyons, two half-brothers Edwin Miller and Robert Miller and a half sister Patsy Miller.
Survivors include daughter Sherry Linneman (Chris Linneman) of Smith Center, a son Jay Campbell (Jennifer Campbell) of Arkansas City, KS. Grandchildren: RoseMarie C. Hanna Sam Hanna) of Ponca City, OK.; Joshua A. Linneman (Justeen Linneman) of Smith Center; Andrew Jordan of West Virginia; Kamesha Campbell of Arkansas City, KS; Brittany of Newton, KS.; and Bridgette Gillespeie of Arkansas City, KS; sister Elda Lyons of Smith Center; Don Widener (Roberta) of Westminster, CO.; half-brothers Harold Widener of Salina; Junior Widener (Clydene) of Stockton; half-sister Shirley Lewis of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews.
