Jesse Earl Lonnberg, 70, passed away January 16, 2023, at Newton Medical Center, Newton, Kansas, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
He was born March 2, 1952, in Spearville, the son of Joe L. and Mildred L. Henderson Lonnberg. A lifetime area resident, he was a Rancher/Stockman and Bull Hauler.
He was a member of the Jetmore United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore Saddle Club, former president and member of the Fair Board Association, former president of Extension Board, Kansas Livestock Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
On February 22, 1986, he married Paula Jean Cohoon in Jetmore. She survives.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Mandy (Luis) Paz, Jetmore; three granddaughters, Cassidy, Annie and Emma; Melissa (Josh) Nuss, Jetmore; two grandchildren, Macy and Jase; Megan (Tyler) Neff, Park City; grandson, baby Neff due in February; brother, Don Lonnberg, Garden City; sister, Mary Lou (John) Kline, Dighton; sister-in-law, Deon Lonnberg, Dodge City; mother-in-law, Alice Cohoon, Jetmore, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert “Bob” Lonnberg and father-in-law, Bill Cohoon.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023, at United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Durham and Harmon Bliss presiding. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
