Greg Hileman, age 69, died Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born November 21, 1954, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Simon Sylvester and Lois Imogene (Rose) Hileman.
Greg grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School. He then attended Lineman School in Manhattan. Greg worked for Lane-Scott Electric in Dighton, Pioneer Electric in Ulysses, and held lineman positions in various towns in Florida, Arizona, and Louisiana. After moving back to Ulysses, he owned and operated the Double Deuce Bar. He enjoyed working on and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and the companionship of his dog, Goober.
Greg is survived by his son, Shannon Maughlin and wife, Charley, of Dighton; sister, Debbie Long and husband, Marty, of Ulysses; sister-in-law, Carmen Long of New Braunfels, Texas; and two grandchildren, Brianna and Chevy Maughlin.Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Sy and Lois Hileman; and brother, Larry Hileman.
