Of the five children, Virginia was the second child and first daughter of Sam and Pearl Medford. She graduated from Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colorado and then started a career in business.  Virginia married Donald Richard Sanders of Wichita, Kansas, and they had two children.  Virginia and Don were divorced in 1972.  Virginia worked in several different jobs over the years, including owning and operating Farmers Market Grocery Store in Grinnell, KS.

Virginia is survived by her sisters Sandy (Medford) McCune (Bedford, PA), Alana Keck (Colby, KS) and Pamela Medford (unknown).  Virginia’s children, Rick Sanders (Columbia, MO) and Linda Sue (Sanders) Teeter (Grainfield, KS), have provided Virginia with eight grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

No services will be held as Virginia asked that a Celebration of Life be conducted by family and friends.  Rick Sanders and Linda Teeter will be scheduling this in the Spring of 2023. Details will be provided later.
