Tanner Joseph Haselhorst, 21, Hays, died Sunday, January 1, 2023, at his home.
He was born June 22, 2001, in Hays, the son of Travis Haselhorst and Lisa Pfannenstiel. In 2019, he graduated from Hays High School and in 2020 he graduated from NCK Tech at Beloit with a Heavy Equipment Operator degree. He was a loader operator for Hess Services and loved running his loader. Tanner was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Antonino. He loved his dogs at that farm, listening to heavy metal music, was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, K-State Wildcats, and Dallas Stars and could remember many game stats.
Survivors include his father Travis Haselhorst of Antonino, grandparents: Art and Shirley Haselhorst of Antonino, A.J. and Linda Pfannenstiel of Hays, great grandfather: Orville Haselhorst of Hays, great grandmother: Mary Ann Legleiter of Hays, two uncles: Tyler Haselhorst and wife Jobeth of Hays and C.J. Pfannenstiel and wife Sara of Rush Center, and five cousins: Jillyan Sheldon, Denton, Easton, Paisley, and Casen Pfannenstiel.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lisa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Fr. Curtis Carlson, O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Thursday and from 9:00 am until 9:30 on Friday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7:00 on Thursday at the funeral home.
