Rita Mae Wolf– age 93 former Hays, Kansas resident passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at The Legend at Capital Ridge Senior Living Center in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born on September 9, 1930, in Victoria, Kansas to Otto R. and Ottilia (Graf) Brungardt. Rita married Laverne P. Wolf on April 11, 1953, at Victoria, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2007.
Rita was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a farmer’s wife, and a homemaker. She worked at Field Abstract Company as a bookkeeper, Singer Sewing Center, and Travenol Labs. all of Hays. Rita moved to the Legend at Capital Ridge in the winter of 2021. She grew up in Victoria and was a graduate of Victoria High School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles, and her family. Rita was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Christian Mothers, and American Legion Auxiliary all of Hays.
Rita’s survivors include her children, Randy Wolf and wife, Cynde, Goddard, KS; Pamela McDonald and husband, Kerry, Topeka, KS; Kurt Wolf and wife, Patrice, Golden, MO; her brother-in-law, Wilfred Kreutzer, Hays, KS; her grandchildren, Andy Wolf (Tracy); Jessica Wolf (Mark); Ian McDonald; Cassie Woofter (Genare); Tanner Wolf (Katelyn); her great-grandchildren, Zachery Wolf; Ryan Wolf; Blakely Wolf; and Emilia Woofter.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ottilia Brungardt; her husband, Laverne P. Wolf; her brothers, Peter Brungardt; Leroy Brungardt; her sisters, Henrietta Rohr; Amelia Jacobs; Alma Herrman; Lillian Herrman; Betty Hutchins; Patty Kreutzer; Creda Arendt; her infant sisters, Armella Brungardt and Barbara Brungardt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 15, 2024, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 13th and Ash, Hays, Kansas with celebrant, Father Rich Daise. The Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hays, Kansas.
A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Monday, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
