Robin Emil Bell was born in Smith Center, Kansas on January 16, 1962, to Roy Dean and Sharon (Bose) Bell and passed away January 6, 2024 in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Robin graduated from Smith Center High School in 1980. He excelled at running track under the leadership of Coach Jim Muck where the 400 meter race became his specialty! He learned so many life lessons from Coach Muck that had a profound impact on him all his life!
Robin went on to attend Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in May, 1985 and went on to received his Master’s Degree in Education Administration in July, 1993.
He spent the majority of his educational career in the Shawnee Mission School District. He began as a teacher and was quickly promoted to Assistant Principal, Principal, Human Resources Administrator and Director of Family Services where he remained until he retired in 2018. Many teachers that had him as a principal would say they are better teachers because of Mr. Bell. He was always so good at keeping up with staff members after he retired. He organized the retiree group called “Always a Camanche Buffalo” that enjoyed time together once a month. He was intentional on calling and checking in on people he worked with over the years. He always ended his calls with “take care of yourself”. He was a great story teller. Robin's personality was a reflection of his Dad's, he never met a person he didn't connect with. A stranger to no one.
He was a very loyal and proud K-State Wildcat fan, you could say he bled purple. He lived his life by Bill Snyder's 16 Wildcat Goals for Success! He was so excited to run his first Bill Snyder Highway Half in May 2023. He enjoyed it so much he continued to train and ran the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot with his friend and neighbor Shane Brown, who shared that he honestly thinks a person only gets maybe a handful of friends like Robin in your lifetime!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Bell; brother, Jeff Bell; grandparents, Emil and Esther Bose; Roy M. and Mary Bell and great niece, Makinna Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his Dad, Roy Dean Bell; sisters Luann Jones and husband Earl, Kerri Garman and husband Tim; nieces, Erin Jones, Erica Butler and husband Vince, Andrew Jones and wife Veronica; great nephews Tre’ and Kobe Butler, and nieces Makessa Butler and Rosalie Jones. He will be missed by a host of special friends; too many to mention
