DIGHTON - Gerald E. Riley, 85, died on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born on June 28, 1938 at Scott City the son of Clark Elmer & Alice Loretta (Luckcuck) Riley.

He married Donna Castle on November 30, 1975 at Wichita.

Gerald graduated from Dighton High School in 1956 and Fort Hays State University in 1960.

He returned to Dighton and spent a lifetime with his love of farming. He was a member of First Christian Church of Dighton, Barney Masonic Lodge and Isis Shrine.

He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, watching his brother coach basketball and being involved in his nephews' activities.

He is survived by his wife Donna Riley, stepdaughter Renee Schooley of Salina, and granddaughter Allie and Jeff Michel of Salina, brother Keith and Merriel Riley of Hill City, and nephews Brian and Darby Riley of Prairie Village and Geoffrey and Sara Riley and great-niece Alice Riley of Kansas City, Missouri.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Dighton Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jennifer Bradford officiating. Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.
