Nadine B. (Younger) Pedersen - age 91 of Rogers, Minnesota died Friday, August 18th, 2023, at The Wellstead of Rogers Senior Living.

She was born December 20, 1931, in Hays, Kansas to Jacob P. and Catherine (Mader) Younger. She married Pete Pedersen. He preceded her in death in 1984. Nadine and Pete were both in the United States Air Force together.

Nadine grew up and attended grade school in Catharine, Kansas. She was a 1950 graduate of Girls Catholic High in Hays. After high school she attended the Marymount College School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas from 1950 to 1953 and received her nursing degree. She also received a certificate from the School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas for psychiatric nursing in 1952.

After receiving her nursing degree, she began her nursing career in California. On November 17, 1960, Nadine entered the United States Air Force as an officer with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. She was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She did Medical Service Indoctrination training in Montgomery, Alabama. On November 16, 1962, she was honorably discharged, from the United Sates Air Force to start a family.

Nadine’s daughter Pam, was born on August 14, 1963. Nadine worked in nursing positions in Florida and Kansas before beginning her nursing career at Miller Dwan Medical Center in 1973, in Duluth, Minnesota.

Nadine was the head nurse in the ICU, head nurse on the medical floor, and was promoted to the head medical coordinator position running a highly acclaimed rehabilitation unit.

In 1997, Nadine retired from nursing and moved to be closer to her daughter Pam and her family. Nadine moved around with Pam’s family after her retirement to Colorado, Ohio, Florida and back to Minnesota. From 2004 to 2006, Nadine worked for Barton Home Care in Colorado doing in home health care for elderly patients.

Survivors include her daughter Pam Knapp and husband, Scott; her grandchildren Tamara (Brent) Potter; Jonathon Knapp; Brennan (Ali) Knapp; her great-grandchildren Destiny, and Alyssa Muehlbauer; her sisters-in-law Jeanette Younger; Ethel Younger; and Bernadette Younger.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Catherine Younger; her former husband Pete Pedersen; her brothers Richard Younger; Albert Younger; James Younger; Bernard Younger; John Younger, Thomas Younger; her sisters Lucille Miller, Rita Desch, Lietta Niernberger, Sister Pat Younger C.S.A., and Catherine Bitterman; an infant brother Francis Younger and another infant brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at The Basilicas of St. Fidelis, Victoria Kansas with Father James Moster O.F.M. Cap officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas with Military Honors by the Victoria V.F.W. Post #1751.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria.
