Ruth Mae (Waudby) Moyer
Ruth Mae (Waudby) Moyer was born October 14 1924; she had just turned 99, when she passed away at Wheatland Nursing Center on November 12.
Ruth graduated from Russell High School in 1943, and from business school at Brown Mackie Business School in Salina.
She was married to Ernie Reissig, and they have a daughter, Mervis Reissig, who lives in Redondo Beach, CA. Later, she married Bill Moyer, and they have a son, Bill Moyer Jr., who lives in Lorraine, KS with his wife Donna.
Ruth is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She worked at various businesses in Russell, including the Russell Lumberyard, Jim’s Hamburger Stand, and the Russell Daily News.
She was also a long-time volunteer for the Foster Grandparent program through Fort Hays State; and for the Methodist Thrift Shop in Russell. She was well known for her feistiness, helping others, and her honesty.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas. There will be a spiritual message by Elder Sharon Ringler APS at 11 a.m.
