Ruby Fossett, of Russell, Kansas passed away on April 26, 2024, at HaysMed Center in Hays, Kansas, at the age of 76. She was born on July 17, 1947, to Paul Henry and Lorna Sofia (Kreft) Boedeker of Natoma, Kansas. She was married to Curtis Fossett, of Osborne, Kansas, in 1967. They later divorced.
Ruby grew up in Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School. She attended Fort Hays State University.
She was a housewife and church organist. She also worked at a call center in Hays.
Ruby lived in the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell for many years. She will be missed by her friends there.
Ruby is survived by her son, Ray (Tracy) Fossett, Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Ruth (Jim) Mullen, Ozark, Missouri; granddaughters, Jourdan Elizabeth (Matthew Eric) Brattlof, League City, Texas, Abigail Sue Fossett, Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandsons, William Everett (Emily Barnes) Fossett, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Matthew Christopher Fossett, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; great-granddaughters, Claire Grace Brattlof, Eleanor Jean Brattlof; nieces and nephews, Dr. Wes (Kathleen) Mullen, Ozark, Missouri, Scotty Mullen, West Hollywood, California, Erin Mullen, Mesa, Arizona and Richard Wykoff, Russell, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert P. Boedeker; sisters, Kathryn L. Wykoff and Dorothy A. Ruch.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Lutheran Cemetery in Natoma, Kansas.
