Linda Kaye Slemp, 70, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at her home in La Crosse, Kansas.
Linda was born May 18, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Lester and Catherine (Gentry) Smith. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, since 2003, moving there from Michigan. She worked in the housekeeping department at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas, before her retirement.
She was a member of the Solomon Valley Muzzleloaders Association, and the Kansas Traditional Muzzleloading Association.
Linda enjoyed camping and working in her flowers. She loved and lived for her family and friends.
On July 18, 1987, she married Joseph “Joe” Slemp in LaGrange, Indiana.
Survivors include: her husband, Joseph “Joe” Slemp, La Crosse, Kansas; one son, Ron Reed (April), La Crosse, Kansas; one daughter, Lacy Quake (Andrew), Three Rivers, Michigan; one daughter in law, Ashley Slemp, Hoisington, Kansas; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her lifelong friend of 58 years, Debbie “Ann” Buck, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David Smith, and Jeremiah “Jeremy” Slemp; two brothers, Bobbie Smith, and Ricky Smith; and one sister, Sharon Wicklund.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Tom Ferch officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
