Nelda F. Boele, age 80, of Alden, Kansas, and formerly of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away on Sunday morning, June 5, 2022, at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas, after a sudden illness.
Nelda was born on June 19, 1941 at Westville, Oklahoma, to Caleb and Zola (Fusselman) Crowder and grew up in Ault, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Boele on June 19, 1977, at Great Bend, Kansas. Nelda and Robert lived in Great Bend until Robert’s death in 2010, at which time she moved to Alden, Kansas. Nelda loved to drive, and loved to do Diamond Art, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, and loved (and at times hated) John and Tracey’s dog Copper. She was also well-known for her cherry cheesecake. Nelda was active with the Silver Threads & Friendship Meals at Sterling, Kansas.
Survivors include one son, John (& Tracey) Boele of Alden, Kansas; two daughters: Stacy (& Frank) Trevino of St. John, Kansas and Tammula Boele of Great Bend, Kansas; three grandchildren: Bryant Boele, Kylie Boele, and Christian Trevino; two great-grandchildren Gavin and Delanie; one brother Ken (& Nancy) Crowder of Greeley, Colorado. Nelda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert Lee Boele on February 17, 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, Kansas with Pastor Tonya Andrews officiating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery at Great Bend. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the funeral home, with the family greeting friends and relatives from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
The family requests that Memorial Contributions may be made to the Silver Threads & Friendship Meals at Sterling, Kansas.
