Richard A. Rojas, 77, died Friday December 29, 2023 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born April 6, 1946 in Syracuse, Kansas; the son of Antonio and Severiana (Avila) Rojas.
Richard was the youngest of nine children. He spent the early years of his life growing up on the farm in Syracuse, Kansas. The family then later relocated to Garden City, Kansas where he attended school. Towards the end of high school, he met the love of his life Rita J Servantez. Then four years later they were married on February 19, 1968. They welcomed their first child a daughter, Jennifer. Then two years later they welcomed their son, Richard (Jahmal). They continued to reside in Garden City, Kansas where they raised their children. Later in life he found his faith in Jehovah through the brothers and sisters from the congregation. This newfound faith would highly impact the kind of father and husband he would become. With guidance from Jehovah, the kind of father, husband, and friend he was began to flourish. He was selfless with his love and wisdom, patient in all things, wise beyond measure, but above all he was loving. He loved his family without end. Understanding this kind of love is best exemplified through his affection for his beautiful wife, Rita. It was evident in their constant hand holding, lengthy embraces, and shared journey of life experiences and though it all his love, and their love for one another never wavered. They shared many journeys together, one of those journeys was his decision to further his education. He went back to college and worked hard, that hard work paid off. Richard graduated with his license as an addiction counselor for the state of Kansas in two thousand and eleven. He continued helping others over the next several years. If Richard was not helping someone, or with his family you could find him building something. He loved woodworking, he could build anything and everything. If he was not woodworking, he was telling stories to his great grandchildren, or spending quality time with his wife, Rita. Some of his favorite moments were camping trips to the mountains with his family, and friends. The mountains were his happy place with his wife by his side. Though our hearts are sad, we are grateful for the moments, wisdom and love that he shared not just with his family, but with everyone he met. We draw comfort and strength knowing he ran a faithful race to the end and will be remembered in Jehovah Gods book of life.
