Sherril “Lynn” Cameron, 83, of Colby, passed away at Citizens Medical Center, Colby on Jan. 3, 2024. He was born on May 6, 1940, to Orville Hershel and Veva (Miller) Cameron, in Colby.
Lynn was a lifetime resident of Colby and attended Colby schools. Due to having polio at the age of 13, his education was delayed, but he was able to successfully complete his schooling and graduate with the class of 1960.
Lynn worked many jobs around Colby, but the one he enjoyed the most was working maintenance and custodial at Colby Community College for 40 years. He retired from there in 2019. This job allowed him the opportunity to study under Ken Mitchell to expand his artistic talent. Not too many people knew he could draw, that awesome photos and also sing.
Over the years, Lynn had many interests, which included roller skating, riding motorcycles and fishing, with bowling being his favorite pastime. He also loved woodworking, eventually giving away and selling some of his projects.
Lynn married Carol (Neill-Custard) Cameron on May 3, 2014, in Colby. With this marriage, he gained a daughter, three sons and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Orville and Veva Cameron; brother Marian Ray Cameron; brother-in-law Alan D. Beougher and son-in-law Lee Jaderlund.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol; daughters from his first marriage, Dawn Cameron and Deana Jaderlund, both of Washington State; from his marriage to Carol, children; Bonnie (Doug) Lewis, Cheney, Raymond “Mike” Custard, Colby, Gary (Daphne) Custard, Springer, Okla., and James Custard, Ardmore, Okla.; siblings, Sharon Beougher, Burlington, and Jay (Sally) Cameron, Hoxie; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
