Georgia Maxine Matthies Carlson, age 92, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on January 26, 1931, in Dighton, Kansas, the daughter of George R. and Lota Owen McCoy.
A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1966, moving from Dighton, Kansas, she worked in sales at JM McDonald, and Whitings throughout her life.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas.
On June 26, 1949, She married Robert D. Matthies in Dighton, Kansas. He passed away on September 28, 1984, in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include her daughters - Janet and George Tecklenburg of Hutchinson, Kansas, Kim and Mike Musick of Weatherford, Texas, son - Craig and Marcia Matthies of Scott City, Kansas, sister - Charlene Dowell of Dighton, Kansas, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, and one grandson - Lucas Matthies.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Community Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Scott Wagner presiding.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
