Mary Pauline (Carlton) Arehart was born January 21, 1935, to Glen and Irene (Ward) Carlton in Albuquerque, NM. She passed away June 12, 2023, at the age of 88 in the Andbe Home in Norton, KS. Mary was the eldest of six children.

She attended Norton Community Schools, graduating from Norton Community High School in 1953.

She married Rodney Arehart on April 22, 1954, in Norton, KS. To this union eight children were born. Mary was a homemaker who cared for her children, grandchildren, and babysat for others.

She is survived by her children Jim of Norton, KS, Greg of Norton, KS, Bill of Salina, KS, Cheryl (Michael) Sauvage of Oberlin, KS, Don (Nancy) of Norton, KS, Lisa Miller of Almena, KS, Todd of Osawatamie, KS; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); 10 great-great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Loretta Ray of Norton, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rodney; son Robert; bonus son Jeremy Courtain; daughter-in-law Lita (Jim’s wife); sisters Gerry Urban and Connie Hendrix and brothers J.B. Carlton and Tom Carlton.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 16 with the family greeting friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
