Longtime Goodland resident, Sharon L. David, age 80, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 in Thornton, Colorado. Sharon was born February 25, 1943 to Francis Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Newachek) David in Denver, Colorado.
They moved to Goodland in 1948, where Sharon grew up and went to school, graduating from Goodland High School in 1961.
Sharon worked as an insurance clerk at Northwest Kansas Medical Center and Dr. Kenneth D. Austin for 15 years. She was a secretary for Cole Auction and Real Estate for a little over 17 years, retiring in 2001.
In her younger years, Sharon enjoyed traveling for bowling and collecting salt and pepper shakers and most of all looking after and spending time with her family and friends. She spent her time helping people with whatever they needed. She worked as a secretary for Harrison Reality, Dr. Swinehart, Bateman Funeral Home and Serendipity Flower Shop until the present.
Sharon is survived by her son Alan (Teresa) David of Goodland; granddaughters Nicole Kinen of Wray, CO and Lexi (Bret) Mangan of Goodland; grandson Josh David of Goodland; great-grandchildren Kinley and Landree Kinen and Addisyn and Rhett Mangan; sister Judy (Robert) McKnight; nieces, nephews and many more family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Mary, grandparents, brother Richard and sister Marylyn Engel.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland. Interment following the service at 12:30 p.m. MT at the Winona Cemetery, Winona Kanas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home.
