Phyllis Lynn Bliss, 70, of Sharon Springs, died Friday, June 28, 2024, in Tribune, KS. She was born March 25, 1954, in Oakley, KS, to George and Dorothy (Russell) Burris. Phyllis grew up in Wallace, KS, attending school there through the 8th grade. She then went to Sharon Springs High School and graduated with the class of 1972. On April 25, 1982, Phyllis married Charles Bliss, in Wallace. Phyllis enjoyed doing arts and crafts, making jewelry and watching rodeos, especially the bull riding. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and attending all their children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Leon Burris, Joyce Penka and Gerald Russell and brothers-in-law, Jim Baehler and Glenn Kendall.
She is survived by her husband Charles, of Sharon Springs; children, Klee (Ronda) Jones, of Garden City, KS and Lance Jones of Smith Center; step-children, Chandra Bliss Parker, of Holyoke, CO and Devin Bliss of Hawkins, TX; sisters, Melba Baehler and Nelda Marsh; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild, with two more on the way, and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a come and go memorial service for Phyllis from 2-4:00 p.m. MT, Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Township Hall in Sharon Springs, KS.
