Twyla Mae Elliott, 87, died Monday, September 4, 2023, at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born August 8, 1935, in La Crosse, Kansas, the daughter of John and Louise (Meier) Brach.

Twyla grew up in the Otis, Kansas area where she attended school.

On November 16, 1961, she married D.N. “Neil” Elliott in Wichita, Kansas. They lived in Deerfield, Kansas until 1984 when they moved to Garden City.

A homemaker, Twyla enjoyed cooking, sewing, and drawing. She was a member of the English Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include three sons Marlon and wife Benedicta Elliott of Garden City, Kansas, Vance and wife Cindy Elliott of Hesston, Kansas, and Lonnie Elliott of Fabens, Texas; two brothers Ronald Brach of Haysville, Kansas and Dennis Brach of Udall, Kansas; a sister, Janice Alexander of Climax, Kansas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Twyla is preceded in death by her husband Neil who died on May 31, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Duane Brach, Richard Brach, and Donald Brach.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorials given to the Twyla Elliott Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
