Robert (Bob) Hugh Fossum, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in McCook, Nebraska. Bob was born on May 10, 1933, to Oliver Emil Fossum and Edith British Fossum in Rugby, North Dakota.
Bob was raised in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1951. After high school Bob went to California where he enlisted in the Air Force. While he was stationed at Scott Air Force Base Illinois, he met his future wife, Marilynn Wiley. Bob went overseas to Korea and one year later came back to St. Louis to ask Marilynn to marry him. They were married April 23, 1955. They have been together for 69 years. Bob loved talking to people which was an asset to being a good salesman. He was always interested in cars and enjoyed watching sports and really enjoyed playing pinochle.
He is survived by his wife Marilynn (Wiley) Fossum; son: Bob J. Fossum of Oakley, KS; daughters: Debra M. Helm of Norcatur, KS, and Beverly A. Starman of Oakdale, NE. 13grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother: John Fossum of Surprise, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ron and Phillip; sister: Sheryl.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10:30AM. Visitation will be Thursday, September 5th at Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, with the family receiving guests from 4:00-7:00.
