Carolyn Lou Robinson, 93, Hays, died Monday, September 2, 2024 at Via Christi Village.
She was born April 17, 1931 in El Reno, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy R. and Mariam (Forrest) Allison. Carolyn graduated from Brewster High School in 1949 and attended Kansas State University. On August 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to Edwin S. Robinson in Brewster, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1962. Carolyn was a homemaker and worked various jobs. For 20 years, she worked in customer service for CVS Health in Phoenix, Arizona, retiring in 2011. Carolyn was a member of the United Methodist Church, played in her church bell choir at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed her bowling league, square dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include her two sons, Larry Robinson and wife Loretta of Gold Canyon, AZ and Rick Robinson and wife Lexie of Hays, two daughters, Gail Schoenberger and husband Dan of Garden City and Susan Engel and life partner Lester Seibert of Nickerson, a sister, Pat Wright of Oakley, six grandchildren, Shelli Ward, Ashley Robinson, Bethany Robinson, Christopher Engel, Cody Engel and wife Tiffany, and Titus Smith, four great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, and three grandchildren, Holly Dee Schoenberger, Jeffrey Daniel “J.D.” Schoenberger, and Courtney Dawn Engel.
Private family inurnment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cawker City. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Chapel at Via Christi Village. Services are entrusted to Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and condolences and memories of Carolyn may be left for her family at www.haysmemorial.com.
