Edward Ray Fringer, 58, of Menlo, KS, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was born on December 23, 1965, in Oberlin, KS, to Larry and Kathleen Ann (Gibson) Fringer. Ed grew up in Hoxie, KS and attended Hoxie schools, graduating in 1985.
Between his Junior and Senior years in high school Ed joined the National Guard. After graduating he completed Advanced Individual Training and then was stationed in Germany for four years. There he met Carmen Herrmann and the two were married on August 11, 1990. Ed served in the National Guard for 21 years and was active in the Gulf War, Desert Storm and the Iraq War. After the service, Ed worked for NA Timmerman Feeding.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed watching wrestling, rodeos, dirt track car races, the Kansas City Chiefs and western movies. He also enjoyed reading westerns and putting together model cars and puzzles.
Ed was preceded in death by his father Larry L. Fringer and great nephew Landon Fringer.
He is survived by his wife Carmen Fringer; children, Jacklyn Fringer, Emmy Marie (Justin) Heikes, Leeann Fringer, Cody Fringer and Montana Fringer; mother Kathleen Ann Fringer; brother Daniel (Cynthia) Fringer; sister Debra (Tyler) Hudson and five grandchildren.A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Oberlin Cemetery, Oberlin, KS, followed by lunch at the Gathering Place, Colby, KS.
