It is with great sorrow that the family of Fredia L. Dodson announces the passing of their Mother, Grandmother, and Mema on June 17, 2024, surrounded by family, at the age of 89, in Great Bend.
Fredia was born on July 17, 1934, in Texas County, Mo., the third child of seven to Charles and Daisy Coatney. She married her high school sweetheart, Lyle Dodson, on May 10, 1952, and moved to Great Bend where they raised their children: Steven Lyle Dodson (Jacque) of Wichita, Gregory Dodson of Hutchinson, and Lora Alefs (Kenny) of Great Bend. They owned and operated Rosencrantz-Bemis Water Well in Great Bend since 1973 and Darling Drilling in Hutchinson.
She was very proud of her five grandchildren: Kelly Kearney, Cory Dodson, Christopher Dodson, Ryan Alefs and Shelly Duvall. Fredia was blessed with seven great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter.
