Kay was a graduate of El Dorado High School in El Dorado, Kansas and then earned a bachelor’s degree from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas before earning her master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. Kay and Clyde were married May 31, 1974, and began the next 48 years of their married life together in Ness City. Kay was a wife and mother to her family first and foremost.  She was an accomplished musician and loved playing the organ, piano, and violin. It was this love of music that allowed her to teach piano and serve as the pianist and organist at First Baptist Church in Ness City, where she was a member.

It was Kay’s love for God and faith in Jesus Christ that brought her the greatest joy and hope. She now resides in the presence of her heavenly Father for eternity, no longer living by faith but seeing and experiencing that which was previously faith alone.
