Keith D. Waddington, 93, passed away November 22, 2022, at his home in Larned.
He was born June 24, 1929, in Cairo, Nebraska, the son of Jay and Hazel Manners Waddington.
Moving from Moore, Oklahoma, he was a Larned resident for ten years. He served in the United States Navy and later worked as a civilian for the Air Force Department of Defense. In his early years he was a volunteer firefighter while living in New York and after obtaining his pilot’s license, enjoyed flying. He was active in his children’s school organizations while they were growing up and an avid golfer.
In 1953, he married Helen Berg in South Dakota; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include: son, Doug Waddington, Larned and daughter Diane (Don) Holdeman, Woodward, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; brother, Clarence “Butch” Waddington; four sisters, Ruby Warner, Claire Levine, Bonnie Rust, and Arlene Graf; and a grandson, Keith Allen Hoover.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service with military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Jarred Smith presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 2-5 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date at Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newman Grove, Nebraska.
