Lucille Wanda Kuhn, age 70 of Ellis, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
She was born February 24, 1954, in Hays, Kansas to Andrew T. “Andy: and Clara Irene (Hammerschmidt) Kuhn.
She worked at the DSNWK/Reed Center at Hays in the sewing department and housekeeping for almost 50 years, and retiring in 2023. She grew up in Ellis, Kansas, attended the Washington Grade School and then graduated high school from the Reed Center,
She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis, and a member of the Victoria V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was known as Lu; Lucy; LUCY GIRL; but by her mother as Lucille. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, Lu has put together over 500 puzzles, listening to her music on her cassette player, and watching her TV shows. Her best game shows where The Price Is Right and Match Game. Her series shows where Major Crimes, The Closer and Rizzoli and Isles, and she always tuned in on the EWTN Channel. She would look out her window at home and watch her windmills outside and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lu is survived by her sibling, Norbert Kuhn, Hays, KS; Norman Kuhn and wife, Kathy, Victoria, KS; Agneta Kuhn, Ellis, KS; Josita Dreiling, Ellis, KS; Andrew “Andy” Kuhn, and wife, Wanda, Aurora, CO; her nephew and niece, Douglas Kuhn and wife, Marlaina, Victoria, KS; Danny Kuhn, Gorham, KS; Kristi Kuhn and husband, Enrique Alvarez, Denver, CO; her great nephews and nieces, Taiten Kuhn; Caylen Kuhn; Ben Kuhn; Danielle Kuhn; Noelle Kuhn; Hailey Haesemeyer; Ian Alvarez; Nora Alvarez; her four great great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Clara Kuhn; and her sister-in-law, Rita Kuhn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, Kansas with concelebrants, Father Dana Clark and Father Rich Daise. The burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery Ellis, Kanas.
A Victoria V.F.W. Auxiliary Memorial Service will be at 6:45 P.M. Friday, followed by a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Friday, all at the church.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, all at the church
