Herbert Lee Livingston, 84, died Tuesday March 26, 2024 in Garden City, Kansas surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 14, 1939, in Pratt, Kansas; the son of Leon Riley and Elsie (Harris) Livingston.
He graduated from Sublette High School. On September 27, 1959 Herbert married Joan Long; this year would have marked their 65th wedding anniversary. In 1963 he was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Ft. Carson Colorado upon his discharge in 1965 he joined the Army Reserves until 1969. Following his military service, he began selling agriculture parts for 45 years starting at Merril Inc. in 1965 until 1977 then at American Implement from 1977 until retirement.
Herbert was kind, funny, loving, and patient with his grandchildren. Herbert loved time with family, his country, camping, and dirt bike riding with his sons and grandsons.
Survivors include his wife Joan of the home, sons- Donnie and Eileen of Pueblo, Colorado, David and Janelle of Florissant, Colorado, and Dale and Roxann of Garden City, Kansas; grandchildren- Malea Livingston-Martin and Vaughn Martin of Pueblo, Colorado, Chase and Nida Livingston of Alexandria, Virginia, Shelby Livingston of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jenna and Ryan Baron of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Alyssa Livingston of Garden City, Kansas, and Tayler Chelemedos of Raytown, Missouri; great grandsons- Carson Livingston and Cole Livingston; siblings- Velma Smith, Christine Satterlee, Gladys Creeden, Anna Ruth Bemis, and a host of extended family.
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents- Leon and Elsie, brothers- Albert Livingston, and Harold Dean Livingston, sister- Deanna Aubuchon, and his grandson- Clay Livingston.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm Monday April 1, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 pm Monday April 1, 2024 at Turning Point Church of The Nazarene, burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Garden City Community College Endowment Fund to help with Student Scholarships within the John Deere Program.
