Sharyn was born on September 29, 1961, in Plainville, Kansas, the daughter of Elwyn James and Wilda Madeline (Hand) Lambert.  She grew up in Stockton, Kansas, and graduated from Stockton High School in 1979.  In her teenage years Sharyn worked in her mother’s café as a waitress & short order cook. After graduation she attended the Hays Academy of Hair Design in Hays, Kansas.  She was a beautician for over 30 years, during this time she also worked as a bartender for the Stockton VFW Post #8873.  Through a mutual friend she met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Dennis Kilian on October 25, 2008, in Russell, Kansas.  Sharyn then worked as a canteen manager at the Russell V.F.W.
