Orlando John “O.J.” Peach Sr., 95, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
O.J. was born August 23, 1926, in Alexander, Kansas, the son of John Franklin and Nora Mae (Albright) Peach. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. He retired as the City of La Crosse water treatment plant supervisor in 1992.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and American Legion Post 33, both of La Crosse, Kansas; and the Cedar Bluff Diehards, Cedar Bluff, Kansas..
On August 25, 1948, he married Vera M. Kopsky at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas. She preceded him in death January 30, 2016.
Survivors include: two sons, Orlando John Peach, Jr. (Connie), Springfield, Missouri, and Frank Peach (Kim), La Crosse, Kansas; four daughters, Kathy Herrman (Kenny), Liebenthal, Kansas, Rhonda Holloway (Mark Sizemore), La Crosse, Kansas, Jeri Diehl (Ronnie), Jetmore, Kansas, and Mary Kay Schuckman (Irvin), Jetmore, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, Darcy Newell, Deana Rohn, Ricky Seltmann, Ronnie Seltmann, Ryan Seltmann, Shauna Herrman, Shane Herrman, Andy Herrman, Gwen Fetters, Billie Jo Bond, Matthew Peach, Jesse Peach, Chad Diehl, Roni Mae Clements, Trevor Schuckman, Kelsey Schuckman, and Brittany Jones; 27 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one brother, David Peach, Inman, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son, Richard Donald Peach; one daughter, Barbara D. Seltmann; two infant daughters, Donna Jean Peach, and Patricia Marie Peach, a twin sister to Jeri; two great granddaughters; two sons in law, Topper Holloway, and Doug Seltmann; one brother, Donald Peach; and one sister, Isabelle Litzenberger.
Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M.
Church visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. to 9:50 A.M. at St. Michaels’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request memorials to the Cedar Bluff Diehards, Cedar Bluff, Kansas.
