Julius John "Curly" Bieker passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Sheridan County Health Long Term Care at the age of 90. Julius was born on November 21, 1931, to Clement and Lena (Mader) Bieker in Sheridan County, Kansas. He was a lifelong resident of Sheridan County.
On October 29, 1951, he was united in marriage to Wilma Hyde. Julius worked as a painter for the Union Pacific Railroad, was a welder for Arnold Electric and he performed maintenance at The Hoxie Feedlot during his life. Julius enjoyed playing in a band that entertained residents at the Long Term Care and Ridgewood Manor in Hoxie. He had a love for his family, gardening and music.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; sons, Larry Bieker and wife Susan, John Bieker and wife Tina, Steve Bieker all of Hoxie; daughters, Ladena Jones of Hoxie, Judy Powers and husband Jim and Ladonna Krider all of Quinter; 13 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents Clem and Lena Bieker; brothers, Alvin, Frank and Donnie Bieker; sisters, Betty Johnson and Mary Ann Schultz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Hoxie. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home with a Prayer Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 pm.
