Roger Keith Gore, 94, passed away July 6, 2022, at Diversicare of Larned.
He was born August 16, 1927, in Paris, KY, the son of Chester Erasmes and Hazel Ellen Puterbaugh Gore. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the First Christian Church disciples of Christ, Great Bend, Walter S. Chears American Legion Post # 106, volunteer for living history at Fort Larned National Historic Site and also the Santa Fe Trail Center. Roger was a past Sanford school board member and served in the United States Army.
On January 10, 1951, he married Thelma Arlene (Peggy) Flanders in Great Bend. She passed away September 27, 2007.
Survivors include: two sons, Wayne (Cynthia) Gore, Pawnee Rock, Michael (Betsy) Gore, Larned; daughter, Karen Gore, Larned; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stanly Gore; daughter, Jeanette Gore; brother, Hollis Gore and three sisters, Laura Alice Gore, Virginia Sielert and Evelyn Weisensee.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Rev. Josh Leu presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery with military graveside rites.
